Polanski raises global hell

French-Polish film maker Roman Polanski was arrested in Switzerland on charges of sex with a minor, in a business that pursues him for 30 years.
Arrested by U.S. mandate, he could be extradited soon. France requested his release, and cultural circles mobilized.
The 76 years old movie maker is allegedly detained at the Zurich airport. American Justice has 40 days to present a formal extradition request.
France and Poland (Polanski has dual nationality, French and Polish) will ask Washington for his release, announced the head of Polish diplomacy, Radoslaw Sikorski.
On other side, the French Minister of Justice has promised to take position in Polanski’s case because, he argues, this is an abuse.
