One of the most respected women in the world, Oprah Winfrey, will officially announce today that it will waive its September 2011 show, announced Mediafax.
Spokespersons of Winfrey’s production company, Harpo Inc., said that the announcement will be made in today’s show, and that Oprah will talk about the reasons which led her to take this decision after 25 years before the ABC cameras.
“The Oprah Winfrey Show” broadcasts from Chicago on channel ABC in the U.S., but also in other 140 countries, bringing also one of the greatest revenues in television history. It is assumed that Oprah will move to OWN (Oprah Winfrey Network), a joint venture in Los Angeles whose base was put together with Discovery Communications Inc.
The contract for “The Oprah Winfrey Show” on ABC will expire September 2011.
