In mourning! Nicolas Cage's father died of a heart attack
As if his financial problems wouldn’t be enough, another drama hits Nicolas Cage’s family. The actor’s father, August, died at the age of 75 years.
The man, former college dean, director Francis Ford Coppola’s brother, suffered a heart attack on Tuesday.
August has taught literature and has been for years at the helm of the State University of San Francisco, California. He divorced Cage’s mother, Joy Vogelsang, a dancer-choreographer, in 1976.
August Coppola was part of a family of artists. In addition to his son and brother, the man had also a sister, actress Talia Shire whose sons, Robert and Jason Schwartzman, embraced the acting career.
